The Toledo History Museum invites you to explore Toledo through the lens of our area’s rich beer brewing history. By combining a bus tour and beer tastings with historical digital and audio content, guests are fully immersed in the proud tradition of local beer brewing and the Toledo story as it has never been told before.
Spanning Nearly Two Centuries of Toledo Beer
Starting at the Maumee Bay Brewery at the Oliver House on the second Saturday of each month, guests board the History & Hops Brew Bus to tour the Toledo Brewery Trail and learn how beer brewing played an important role in Toledo’s past — and continues to shape our future. We share the roots of Toledo's grand brewing heritage from the first breweries on the East Side, to Lenk's Hill, to shipping beer throughout the region from Toledo’s Warehouse District.
Our experienced history guides lead you on a narrated, multimedia bus tour of the famous and not-so-famous brewery sites that dot Toledo's urban landscape and challenge guests to win prizes by answering fascinating Toledo brewery trivia questions. Finally, the journey returns to modern day with a tour of an award-winning brewery and culminates with a flavorful beer tasting.
Tickets are $45 for Toledo History Museum Members and $50 for non-members, which includes the history tour and beer tasting. The bus leaves at 1:00 pm and returns to the brewery at 3:00 pm. Book your tickets online. We accept all major credit cards.
NOTE: We recommend you arrive to the departure brewery 10 minutes early. The bus will arrive around this time, and boarding will begin shortly after. The bus will not wait for late passengers. Please plan your travel time accordingly and allow extra time for unforeseen weather and traffic incidents. Tickets will not be refunded due to traffic delays or road conditions.
